How to add an image to your divisional website news articles
Log in to your divisional website dashboard as normal. If you have forgotten how, please click this link
Create your article. Please follow the guidelines at this link
Click where you wish to place your image. Generally, at the end of the article is suitable if you wish to place one image in there.
Click the “Add Media” button which is just above the Bold and Italics buttons.
You can either upload an image from your computer or you can select an image already in the image library. For simplicity of these instructions, we will use an image from the library.
Click the image you want to insert. On the right hand side some information will appear about the image, including empty boxes for you to type in a caption.
Enter your caption and ensure it is spelled correctly. It should describe what is happening in the image and who is in the image. Captions are mandatory for ALL articles posted that contain an image. They are essential to increasing Google ranking.
Copy the caption into the Alt Text and Description boxes. This aids visually impaired users so their computers can speak the caption for them.
Scroll down to attachment display settings and click the dropdown menu next to Alignment and ensure Center is the alignment setting.
Click the Insert into Post button. This will insert the image and its caption into the post.
Then click Publish and share your article as normal.
