Assisting Our Local Rugby Community

Foxrock member’s were once again out in force to help support our local rugby club team’s on Friday 06/07/2017. This much anticipated match between De La Salle rugby club versus University College Dublin (UCD) rugby club was a highly speculated match as the winner would be one step closer to the final of the league. Surprise tribute at Dominican Ball

Last night some of our volunteers attended the Ball for the Dominican Order held in the West-court hotel.  The church had organised a number of events over the last few years, which the volunteers from St John ambulance provided medical cover at.  Unknown to us all Fr Jim Donleavy had more plans for us.

European Sand yachting Event

Drogheda Division provided Medical cover for the European Sand yachting event held on Bettystown/Laytown Beach in Co.Meath. Our crews were up nice and early each day to ensure the participants and spectators had a safe week . The event itself ran over 6 days which included a training day.

New members welcome

Training starts back next week for all Cadet and Adult members. New members are welcome, with or without experience as training will be provided. If your already a registered EMT, PARA, AP, NURSE or DOCTOR and want to help out in the community and or keep your skill levels up, we want to hear from you.

Cadets (11to18yrs) train each Monday from 630pm to 830pm

Training Scenario – Car Crash 21/08/2017

Always expect the unexpected

training cadets is an extremely important task for us. We want our cadets to accel in first aid and have develop a passion for them through first aid and helping people. However training from slides and manuals can get a little boring over time and can make cadets lose interest in their training. To tackle this problem we have introduced first aid scenario’s into the mix to try and keep the situation as real as possible while being able to monitor the situation and make sure everyone is safe.
