St John Ambulance Returns to the West
After a break of 20 years, St John Ambulance has returned to the West of Ireland. An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny TD, attended the official launch of the Mayo Division of St John Ambulance on Saturday 4th February.
Led by Michael Corrigan, the new division in Mayo has a well trained and enthusiastic membership and has already become an important service in the local community and surrounding counties.

Requiescat in Pace – Prof. Arthur Tanner
St John Ambulance Ireland expresses the sympathies of members, past and present, to Ann and the Tanner family on the death of Arthur, whose funeral took place this morning.
Prof. Tanner worked alongside St John Ambulance Ireland in Donnybrook Stadium and, later, the RDS, in his role as Leinster Rugby’s team doctor.

A Christmas Message from the Commissioner
St John Ambulance Ireland wishes to extend warmest Christmas and New Year Greetings to all who had contact with us, in any way, in 2016.
Our wish is that you have a Happy and Peaceful time and that, if you lost a loved one this year, you find solace in remembering them fondly during this season of celebration.

Requiescat in Pace – Noel Brady SBStJ
It is with a sense of great personal sadness that I wish to confirm the passing away of our esteemed colleague, friend and mentor Noel Brady SBStJ, RIP; Staff Officer and Member of St John Ambulance Ireland since 1939. Noel has been a loyal and dedicated servant to his community through his Membership of St John Ambulance Ireland for close to 80 years.

Maiden Duty for SJ63 – Interagency Cooperation
While many members were celebrating the wide variety of State-Funded & Voluntary ‘blue light’ services at FESSEF 2016 yesterday, the newest vehicle in the St John Ambulance Ireland fleet – SJ63 – was covering her first duty in Cork.

Life of a Volunteer
Last night saw the beginning of another season for Leinster Rugby. That meant, of course, that St John Ambulance were on site from well before kick-off til after the crowds dispersed. After the long evening duty, members of North Kildare Division were returning their ambulance to its base in Celbridge when they were flagged down by a motorist.
