Volunteer Induction Course (Cork)
Induction training ensures all our volunteers receive the same level of training when joining and are introduced to the organisation in the same way. This three day course is run over weekends and is designed to provide new volunteers with the necessary knowledge and skills to become volunteer members of St. John Ambulance. This course equips new volunteers with basic first aid skills enabling you to provide first aid treatment and care to members of the public at local and national events. This course also provides new volunteers with training in hand hygiene, managing clinical waste and other practical skills which will help you to settle into your new role as a St. John Ambulance Volunteer. This course is run at our premises at Victoria Road, Cork.

All our instructors have several years of practical experience in the field and in teaching. We teach theory sessions followed by practical sessions where the participants get the chance to test their new skills.
The course is tested by multiple choice question exam and continuous observation by the trainer and an adult CPR/AED skills evaluation.
Successful participants are issued with a St John Ambulance certificate which is valid for 2 years.
The cost of this course is € 55 per person which includes a copy of our first aid manual. Lunch is provided on all three days of the course and each member that completes induction and signs on to become a member in Cork City and Glanmire will receive a filled First Aid kit.
